“Kindergarten: the first step towards a world of learning and wonder.” By anonymous
At Premier Academy Kindergarten, we are dedicated to embodying our core values in a meaningful way, welcoming children aged 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 years. We take a holistic approach to development, addressing cognitive, social, emotional, physical, creative, and ethical growth, ensuring integrated experiences that empower learners to thrive.
Every day features a structured routine with greetings, morning responsibilities, and thematic songs during circle time. Playtime and interactive lessons are central to our activities, including opportunities for children to share “weekend news” that promotes communication skills and fosters initial leadership by taking on classroom responsibilities. Storytelling and collaborative play enhance creativity and essential social skills.
Our dedicated teachers exemplify our core values through their interactions, building trust, modelling integrity, and pursuing excellence through personalised teaching. We inspire curiosity through engaging activities and cultivate a strong sense of community, ensuring every child feels valued.
Premier Academy Kindergarten offers and adapted curriculum that is based on the Cambridge Early Years Framework and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the UK. This framework ensures that children from birth to age five receive a comprehensive, play-based education. It emphasizes essential safety standards and provides children with foundational skills for future academic success. Additionally, we incorporate sensory play into our learning journey. Our teaching approach also integrates elements from Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. This adapted approach offers higher attainment levels and prepares students for the academic rigour that we are known for.
Our Kindergarten lays a strong foundation for character building, and our pastoral curriculum fosters relationship-building, emotional literacy, self-regulation, social skills, and mindfulness practices. Overall, we strive to bring our core values to life at our Kindergarten.
In line with our vision statement, our students are prepared to make a difference in the world every single day!

Our Curriculum Review
What does learning look like at Premier Kindergarten?
Premier Academy Kindergarten offers an adapted Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The foundation stage curriculum is organized into six learning areas.

Personal, social, health and emotional development
Helps children develop a positive self-image and respect for others, build positive relationships, enhance social skills, manage their feelings, and gain confidence in their abilities.

Communication and language
Provides children with opportunities to experience a rich language environment, develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves, and engage in speaking and listening across various situations.

Mathematical development
Children engage in hands-on math sessions to develop counting skills, understand numbers, solve basic addition and subtraction, and explore shapes, spaces, and measures for deeper comprehension.

Knowledge and understanding of the world
Involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.

Physical development
Premier Kindergarten provides opportunities for young children to keep active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement.

Pre-School Education
Nurturing Growth Through Play, Exploration, and Independence
Playgroup for 2 ½ years old
Developing Roots
Our Playgroup children spend most of their time engaged in play-based learning, both within the classroom and outdoor learning environments. Learning through senses is a key element throughout this stage of learning. Activities that encourage listening, touching and feeling; visual discrimination, tasting, and smelling are encouraged throughout our playgroup curricular. Water/sand play is also encouraged from the very beginning. Children at this age are also introduced to swimming and basic I.T skills. P.E skills also play a big role in aiding gross motor development and balance.
Nursery for 3 ½ years old
Emerging Wings
Our 3 ½-year-olds at this stage have attained quite a number of basic skills and can work at these independently. It is at this stage of learning that adults are bombarded with lots of questions during their day to day interactions with children within this age-group. These children continue to enjoy play and their attention spans are getting longer. Careful planning at this level is given especially to include inquiry-based learning in order to enable them to obtain answers to their numerous questions through exploration and experiments. Independence is encouraged throughout this stage of learning whereby children are encouraged to use their own abilities in solving day to day challenges.
Reception class for 4 ½ years old
Ready to fly
At this stage, four year olds have developed a “Self-image” and have learned to master plenty of skills. Activities at this level of education are developed to ensure that they are self- directed with a reasonable amount of challenge to enable children to experience success so as to boost their confidence in trying out new tasks. At this stage preparation for Year 1 takes place to ensure a smooth transition.
This includes strengthening social skills, developing independence, encouraging responsibility, and building foundational academic abilities through play-based and structured learning experiences.
Child Care Safety, Health and Security

Your child’s health and safety come first. Our fully equipped Nurse’s Bay is managed by a qualified nurse who attends to all injuries or illnesses with care and professionalism.
If a child is hurt or unwell, a teacher escorts them to the nurse for immediate attention. For minor issues, first aid is given, and the child is comforted and monitored. In the case of major incidents, the nurse immediately informs the Head of Section and the parents, and an ambulance is called if necessary for further medical assistance.
Every incident is carefully documented in our Incident Book, outlining what occurred and how it was handled.
With clear procedures and a nurturing approach, we ensure every child receives the care and attention they need when they need it most.

At Premier Kindergarten, we prioritise safety through engaging, age-appropriate learning. Each year we hold a dedicated Fire and Safety Week, designed to teach children about emergency awareness in a fun and meaningful way.
Throughout the week, children enjoy exciting visits from real-life firefighters, a fire truck, and even an ambulance, giving them hands-on experiences and memorable stories that promote safety knowledge.
The week concludes with a full fire drill on Friday. Our trained fire marshals guide staff and children through safe exit routes, assembling at the designated fire point on the main field. This practical experience helps children understand what to do in an emergency calmly, confidently, and safely.
It's a fun, educational week that leaves a lasting impression.

Outdoor play is a valued part of our daily routine. We have three well-equipped, age-appropriate playgrounds and a large main field where children can run freely, explore, and enjoy nature. These spaces support physical, social, and emotional development through active and imaginative play.
After snack time, children enjoy approximately 45 minutes of outdoor play daily, giving them time to move, socialise, and unwind. Teachers supervise all play sessions, ensuring safety while guiding positive interactions and teamwork.
Our playgrounds feature climbing equipment, sand play, crawl tunnel, swings, slides and creative zones, while the main field allows for open-ended exploration and group games.
Outdoor play boosts motor skills, builds confidence, and helps children return to class refreshed, focused, and ready to learn.

We prioritise smooth, safe, and child-friendly transitions during drop-off and pick-up times.
Children should be dropped off by 8:00 a.m. daily. During the first week of Term 1, parents are welcome to escort their children to their new classrooms to help them settle and adjust comfortably.
After this adjustment period, children are guided to class by staff upon arrival, encouraging independence and routine.
Pick-up is at 3:30 p.m. at the designated pick-up bay. Children are collected either by their parents or approved private vans arranged for school transport. Our staff supervises all departures to ensure children leave safely and with authorised adults.
